We are a local group of The Ramblers, a charity that promotes rambling, protects rights of way, campaigns for access to open country and defends the beauty of the countryside.

We are a mixed bunch of souls, most of us work, hence we tend to walk on a weekend, but our Tuesday walks are becoming ever more popular with our retired members. In our current programme, we're trialing short strolls around the Borough, every Monday. Great for discovering the green ways of Havering!

We walk most Tuesday mornings, Saturday afternoons and all day on Sundays. In the Summer, we also walk on Wednesday evenings.

We walk 5-6 miles on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, 8-12 miles on Sundays.

We walk all over Essex, London and Kent.

Every month, we tackle a 10-11 mile section of a Long Distance footpath. At the mo, its the Essex Way.

We also organise weekends away.

We dont just walk!Every programme provides the opportunity to go ten pin bowling, enjoy a meal out and meet up for a pintor two!

We also survey and clear our local footpaths. Great fun for any gardeners out there!

Havering Music Makers are a Musical Theatre society based in the London Borough of Havering. We rehearse in the Romford area, at Havering Road Methodist Church, Rise Park mainly on Tuesday and Thursday evenings (8pm-10pm). We present three shows - modern musicals, musical plays, operettas and popular concerts - each year, mainly at the Queen's Theatre, Hornchurch. Our members represent a cross-section of the population - aged from 16 to 75, students, teachers, people in Nursing, IT, Security, Accounting, Retail.

If you can sing, act or dance - and who can't do a little of at least one of those? - we want to hear from you. If you want to share in the fun but don't want to go on stage, there's plenty of work behind the scenes.

Due to a severe shortage of rocket clubs in the local area, a group of us decided to set up this one. The idea is to get a group of people together each time they fly. It is also more fun that way and we all stand a better chance of recovering our rockets !! It is also a good way to meet like minded people and see different types of model rockets.

We've been flying since November 1995 and have made many flight with many designs already. I am Peter the new President of H.A.R.T. - I took over from Laurie who is the founder member, Mike creates the newsletter, Jake and Alan manage our under 18s section and I also produce the H.A.R.T. internet web page at

Finding a place to fly is one of the biggest problems, but so far Stubbers Adventure Centre in Upminster are happy to have us (01708 224753). They charge just 2 per adult and 1 per child per day for launching rockets but it's free to come and watch. Stubbers have car parking and toilet facilities and a cafe.

The plan is to fly (weather permitting) each 1st and 3rd Saturday from March to October inclusive from 10.00am to 2.00pm at the flying site. We recommend insurance and follow a safety code. Bring membership card/ID card or they may not let you in ! If you want flying insurance contact the British Model Flying Association on 0116 2440028

Any ideas you have for the club are welcome. Newsletters are produced and can be picked up from "Reeves Models", Romford and "Whaam Kites", Lakeside or from the President, Pete at the launch meetings. Please pick up the newsletters as this is how information will distributed. Newsletters and information can also be sent to members by E-mail if requested.

When you join which is free you will get a membership card, the latest issue of the H.A.R.T. newslettter SCRAMBLE , an Estes catalog, the H.A.R.T. safty code and a map to the launch site and you will also become a member of the largest active model rocket club in the U.K. with at the moment 121 members.

The Membership Card entitles you to:-

a 10% discount at Reeves Models, George Street, Romford.
a 5% discount (under 20) or 10% (over 20) at Whaam Kites, Lakeside Thurrock.
a 10% discount at Colin Bliss Models, Elm Park, Hornchurch.
a 10% discount at Hobby Stores, Broomfield Road, Chelmsford

Each shop is in Essex. Thanks to all shops for supporting our clubs and we hope you will support them.

Meetings are held on Monday evenings at 7.45 at Emerson Park Social Centre, Slewins Lane, Hornchurch

Established over sixty years, the society aims to bring together photographers of all ages and abilities to enable them, by mutual help, encouragement and competition to get the best out of their hobby. Our syllabus encompasses speakers, demonstrations, competitions and practical evenings. We encourage all our members to 'show' their work whether en-prints, colour enlargements, black and white or slides. More recently, we are also seeing a number of digitally produced prints. We have numerous trophies and cups to be won annually by beginners and advanced members; we participate in many area competitions, giving members an overview of the standards of other photographers' work.
Advice and help is always available from our more experienced members, so why not come along 'free' for a couple of meetings and see for yourself!

Annual Suubscription :-Ordinary Membership 30, Concessions 25, Joint Member & Partner Additional 5

Haverings' only practical biassed camera club, meet every Thursday at Fairkytes Arts Centre, Billet Lane, Hornchurch (opposite the Queens Theatre) from 8 to 10 pm.

We aim to be different from other clubs in that we would rather use the camera than just talk about it. Compare our syllabus to others, notice more model nights and outings, evenings where you need to bring a camera?

Our motto is More take, Less talk

More informal, only one class of membership (although special rates for couples) and we do not care if Boots process your prints or you have a darkroom. We even have a competition for small prints! So no enlargement costs. Model nights are about once every 5 weeks. This is where you get a one to one with a professional model for under a tenner, using the clubs own state of the art lighting equipment. Social events are important to the club. We hold a barbecue, Christmas dinner and dance, quiz night, cheese and wine, all with partners.

Most important of all, we believe photography should be fun. We are a very social club, and welcome new members. The first two weeks are free! Then it is only 25 (35 for couples) for about 50 meetings!
